This morning the members of the Battalion band joined the 1st Beddington Company in the Rememberance Sunday Service. They paraded from Holy Trinity Church in Wallington down to the Wallington War Memorial. They then played Last Post and Reveille at the Memorial. They did themselves proud as all played very well.

Saturday saw the start of what proved to be a very busy weekend.

The senior’s organised our contribution to the Churches’ Christmas fayre. We ran a busy photo booth, as well as taking photos in Santa’s grotto. We produced and sold Christmas themed calendars which proved to be a rip roaring success raising just over £65.00 out of the grand total of £1,100 that the fayre raised. A big thank you to all the boys that helped run the stall.

In the evening the senior’s took part in the first round of the National five a side football competition. Unfortunately the success of the afternoon wasn’t replicated. We lost four out of our five matches including a defeat to our local rivals the 1st Cheam.

Congratulations to Harry and Taylor who were presented with their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards at yesterday’s Church Parade.

The award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections. Volunteering, Physical, Skills and a two day Expedition.  The award is not given away lightly, and both Taylor and Harry have shown commitment over a period of six months during which they have averaged at least an hour a week’s activity in each section.

We also have three other lads who just need a couple of items signing off, and their awards will be issued too. So watch this space for further updates.
