Movie Madness

Written by Mark on .

After weeks of planning, our much awaited Movie Night took place on Saturday. We managed to raise £105.03 which will be split between the 10th and SeeAbility, a local based charity helping support people who have multiple disabilities.
We hope the evening was a success, and that everyone enjoyed the movies and the food. You never know we might be persuaded to do again sometime!

YOU London

Written by Mr P on .

On Monday evening Kev,Mark and Pete represented the 10th at the London Volunteer Reception given by The City of London Corporation in the splendid Great Hall at the Guildhall in London. The reception took place during volunteering week, a time when nationally we celebrate the contribution and achievements of volunteers.

The event also presented an opportunity to thank those partners and family members whose valuable support for our volunteers enable them to fulfill their duties.

YOU London is a unique partnership of ten of the most experienced youth organisations in London, of which the Boys’ Brigade is a part.

A March of Success

Earlier in the week our lads who are members of the battalion band had the honour of marching and playing for International campaigner for peace Archbishop Desmond Tutu. A Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1984, the South African has been a high profile Human Rights activist and campaigner for a number of years.

The band headed a walk the Archbishop, the bishop of Croydon and other local dignitary’s made from Croydon College to The Fairfield Halls on October 23rd.

The boys had been rehearsing for this for a few weeks, and they were on the top of their game. The Archbishop thanked them for their efforts with a beaming smile!

Well done.
